What a finished family memoir looks like
Every commission ends in a printed book — made to be read at the kitchen table and kept on the shelf for generations. Here is what goes into it.
Made to be handed down
- Hardcover, sewn binding — a book that opens flat and is built to last.
- Archival, acid-free paper — chosen to stay readable for generations.
- Photographs and documents — scanned and placed beside the passages they belong to.
- Family tree and maps — wherever the story calls for them.
- Copies for every branch — printed in the number you need, with the files kept for reprints.
- The archive behind it — the original recordings, the transcripts, and a digital edition, for the family.
Shaped by the story it tells
Every book is different, but most move through the same arc. The chapters are written in the narrator's voice; the research sits quietly behind them, in maps, notes, and a closing section on sources.
Why you won't find our books online
Each one is written for a single family, and kept by them.
Our books are private. We don't publish them, and we never show one family's story to another without permission. That is part of what families trust us with.
Instead, in a first conversation we walk you through sample pages, papers, and bindings, so you can see — and feel — what your own book will be.
About the book itself
How long is a book?
As long as the story needs. A family memoir of one life is usually shorter than a family history book spanning several generations, and we agree on the scope before writing begins.
Can we add to it later?
Yes. We keep the files, so a new chapter, a second edition, or more copies can follow.
Which language is it written in?
English or Hungarian — whichever your family will read.
